Meet Anthony Ortega, DMD
I first became interested in dentistry around the age of 15, watching my uncle, who was in construction, had got injured on the job and he had to have extensive dental reconstruction. He was so impressed with the dentistry he had completed, that his enthusiasm spilled over on to me. I decided to work toward becoming a dentist from that point forward. I was the first in my family to become a doctor.
While my extended family was in construction, my mother and father were Jazz musicians. My mother’s parents were classical musicians in Scandinavia. I could have gone into music as a profession, but long story short, I decided to take the more dependable route and become a Dentist and I am glad that I did. I still play the piano and I find that it influences my work in subtle ways. A dental procedure is much like a musical piece… it takes practice, concentration and performance. I find that the better my piano playing, the better my performance of dental procedures. I find it fascinating the way it is all linked together!
Meet Our Team
The Newhart Dental location has been providing dentistry in the Inglewood, Hawthorne, South Bay area for over 50 years and was established in 1974. The parking is included and free on our lot, which was very important to our patients. The two previous dentists have since retired and Dr. Newhart took over 10 years ago as an Orthodontist who wanted to help treatment plan a diverse population. Dr. Scott Newhart has been creating ideal smiles for over 35 years in the Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica and Larchmont. During Dr. Newhart’s participation our office has been fully remodeled to resemble Starbucks.
